About the Role
As an Associate Veterinarian, you’ll join a collaborative and capable medical team committed to delivering traditional, full-spectrum veterinary care. This role is ideal for a well-rounded clinician who values quality medicine and long-term client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Perform physical exams and diagnostics and develop treatment plans
- Conduct routine surgeries, dental procedures, and anesthesia management
- Build trust with clients through clear, empathetic communication
- Work collaboratively with support staff to ensure efficient, effective care
- Keep thorough, up-to-date medical records
- Participate in case discussions, CE, and internal development opportunities
- Soft tissue surgery and basic dentistry
Qualifications
- DVM or equivalent from an accredited institution
- Licensed (or eligible) to practice in the state of California

Mountain Aire Veterinary Hospital – Veterinary Assistant Position
We have proudly provided exceptional veterinary care to the Greater Frazier Mountain community and surrounding areas since the late 80’s! The veterinary assistant is the entire team’s primary support. Every department relies on their significant role in aiding with a variety of services to provide excellent client and patient care.
Job Description:
- Assist with patient care and treatment.
- Monitor hospitalization pets / Monitor/aid in caring for animals after surgery.
- Maintaining inventory and stocking
- Restrain animals during blood draws and nail trims.
- Aiding with routine diagnostic tests (i.e. Taking radiographs, running bloodwork, ultrasound, optical exam, neurologic testing)
- Maintaining & sterilize surgical instruments / equipment.
- Clean / Disinfect cages, kennels, exam and treatment areas of hospitalization.
- Administering medications under Veterinarian/ Vet Tech supervision
- Feeding / bathing animals
- Customer Service & Answering Phones
- Helping clients with their pets
- The desire to perform a multitude of veterinary assistant tasks under direct supervisin of the veterinarian including blood draws, catheter placement, obtaining urine/stool samples, surgical preparation and assistance, and MORE!
Qualification:
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must be a self – starter, able to multitask and a team player.
- Genuinely enjoys working with animals and can deal with them when they are stressed, ill or in pain.
- Prefer 1+ years of small and large animal experiences (not required)
- Ability to meet physical requirements lifting, carrying, walking, and standing for long periods of time.
- Alternating 4/10 schedule with one Saturday shift per month required

Licensed Veterinary Technician / Experienced Technician
Mountain Aire Veterinary Hospital has proudly served the Greater Frazier Mountain community for more than 35 years, and we’re looking for a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team. We’re a privately owned small animal practice with a genuine family culture, where self-motivation, continuing education, and mentorship are supported at every level. We welcome applicants who are currently licensed, as well as experienced technicians preparing to sit for the RVT exam.
$25–$35/hour DOE • 4 days on, 3 days off (4/10 schedule) alternating • One Saturday shift per month
Responsibilities
Patient Care
- Assist veterinarians during appointments, surgery, diagnostics, treatments, and emergency procedures.
- Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, radiographs, laboratory diagnostics, medication administration, and patient treatments.
- Monitor hospitalized patients throughout treatment and recovery.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records and treatment documentation.
Surgery & Dentistry
- Prepare patients for surgery using proper sterile technique and monitor anesthesia throughout procedures.
- Provide post-operative nursing care.
- Perform dental prophylaxis, polishing, charting, and dental radiographs.
- Ensure anesthesia machines, surgical equipment, and treatment areas are properly maintained.
Leadership & Team Support
- Lead and support the veterinary technician and assistant team during daily hospital operations.
- Mentor veterinary assistants and support staff on protocols, patient handling, procedures, and workflow efficiency.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and excellent patient care by leading through example.
Hospital Operations & Client Communication
- Monitor inventory levels, treatment supplies, and surgical materials; support quality control and OSHA/DEA compliance.
- Ensure proper cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of instruments, equipment, kennels, and exam rooms.
- Educate clients on treatment plans, medications, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
What Success Looks Like
- Every patient receives safe, attentive care from admission through discharge.
- Veterinary assistants and support staff feel mentored, supported, and confident in their roles.
- Clients leave every visit with clear answers and confidence in their pet’s care.
Qualifications
Required
- Experienced Technician — 2+ years of veterinary technician experience in a fast-paced hospital.
- Strong anesthesia monitoring and surgical assisting experience.
- Experience with radiology, laboratory diagnostics and hospitalized patient care.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills; dependable and detail-oriented.
Preferred
- Current California RVT license in good standing, or currently eligible and preparing to sit for the exam.
- Leadership or supervisory experience.
- Experience mentoring veterinary assistants or support staff.
- Small and large animal experience is a plus but not required.
